hey friends, if you care about cultural appropriation and the damage it causes, please check out this awesome project!
in 2017 dior copied the design of a traditional romanian coat from the county of bihor and sold it for 30,000 euro, giving no credit to the local artisans. in response, romanian fashion magazine beau monde helped the community create their own brand, bihor couture, which sells the original coat, handmade to order, for 500 euro a piece. they also sell other traditional clothing and jewelry for much more accessible prices (5-45 euro). they’ve been hugely successful so far, and currently have enough pre-orders to cover 4.5 years of work, with 100% of the profits returning to the community.
it’s surprisingly common for big name fashion designers like dior, gaultier, tom ford and altuzarra to copy traditional romanian clothing and sell it for ridiculous prices, with minimal original input, while giving nothing back to the community where these designs originated. it’s completely unfair that a big name designer can just steal so much hard work and misuse it to make huge profits.
please support bihor couture, if not by ordering one of their products, then by spreading the news around. it’s really awesome to see a small community fight back against cultural appropriation so successfully. i hope they carry on for a long time!
SPN FANDOM TRADITION: ALWAYS. REBLOG. ON. TUESDAY.
DO WANT THIS TRADITION TO STAY FOREVER IN THIS FANDOM
ALWAYS.

FANDOM LAW YOU MUST ABIDE
ALWAYS.

I will always reblog this
It’s here again!!!!
EVERY. SINGLE. TUESDAY.
So funny story; I listen to music all night (like I have music going to whole fucking night yo. It helps me sleep or some shit, idk.) So at midnight I was still up and I was just scrolling through Tumblr when RIGHT AT FUCKING 12AM Heat Of The Moment stars blasting through my speakers and I’m just sat there like

It’s a SPN family rule to reblog on Tuesdays!

IT’S TUESDAYYYYY!

What every tuesday felt like 😅
Decided to remind something again because definitely too many people have a really annoying tendency to forget about it.
“Before there was light, before there was God and the Archangels, there wasn’t nothing. There was the Darkness, a horribly destructive, amoral force that was beaten back by God and his Archangels in a terrible war. God locked the Darkness away where it could do no harm, and he created a Mark that world serve as both lock and key, which he entrusted to his most valued lieutenant, Lucifer. But the Mark began to exert its own will, revealed itself as a curse, and began to corrupt. Lucifer became jealous of man. God banished Lucifer to Hell. Lucifer passed the Mark to Cain, who passed the Mark to you, the proverbial finger in the dike.”
– Death, about the history of the Darkness
This is what Death said in the show. What’s the conclusion?
Lucifer is not evil.
Lucifer is not evil.
LUCIFER IS NOT EVIL AND IT’S 100% CANON. THE MARK CORRUPTED HIM. IT HAS BEEN AFFECTING HIM SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE UNIVERSE.
His bloodlust is also caused by the Mark. He’s addicted to killing, it’s like a drug addiction, but incomparably harder to overcome (remember Dean and Cain?).
Okay, that’s all. Now spread the word because everyone in the fandom should be aware of this. Lucifer is a very important and awesome character and his potential can’t be ruined.
Current mood: Totally enying my degus. They get to take a fuzzy fluffy cuddly nap while I need to work on frustrating university shit.

I’M BOTH DAMMIT
AND I CAN’T WRITE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I NEED TO FOCUS ON FUCKING FRUSTRATING UNIVERSITY PROJECT WHILE MY MIND KEEPS THROWING IDEAS AT ME LIKE WTF BRAIN! NOT FUCKING NOW!

Why do parents always assume their kid is lazy when they get bad grades? Like maybe help your kids by talking to them, not punishing them. This is how I failed math and didn’t even know I had number dyslexia for years.
When my sister was in high school she struggled a LOT with math. Like I know a lot of people find it really difficult (myself included), but I mean she was really really bad at it. She has always been a very smart, creative and sensitive person, but math made no sense to her, to the point where passing seemed impossible.
I will always remember that twice a week, around the kitchen table, my sister would sit down with my dad for hours, and they would try to work out her math homework. I should mention that my dad is an artist, and art teacher. Truth be told I think he struggled with math just as much if not more then she did. But twice a week you could hear them downstairs, going back and forth, trying to figure it out together. Some nights would be smooth and easy, some nights I could hear them arguing from one floor up about factors or equations, not in anger but in mutual frustration.
I remember the day that she passed. My sister couldn’t wait until my dad’s school day ended, so she called him at work. She gleefully announced to him “I got a D-!”. We could hear him through the phone as he exclaimed “She got a D!” excitedly to his class. Still through the phone we heard his students clapping, laughing and whooping in congratulations. Seldom has a grade in our household been so celebrated.
Just thought a shitty picture like this should be accompanied by a story about a person’s parents who actually gave a shit about helping their kid instead of mocking and punishing them.
Read the story
The story is beautiful.
The pic is messed up. Like, “Oh, my daughter has problems in school. So, we decided to take away her main way of communicating with her friends.”
Nevermind that I’ve helped friends with their math VIA WHATSAPP (aka over the phone) several times.
Nevermind that my friends and I plan most meetings, including meeting up to study (yes, it happens) mostly VIA WHATSAPP (again, over the phone).
Nevermind that, y’know, a smartphone is a GREAT way of quickly looking up stuff you don’t remember (should the daughter stop practicing etc for like 10min to boot up a PC to look things up, or WAY longer if the PC decides it needs to update??).
